The Sporting Kansas City U14's finished in
first place in Bracket A
of the Boys U14 division at the Missouri State Cup with a 3-2 win over SLSG Premier Green 97/98 on Monday night in Springfield, MO. Dustin Ottesen's squad will advance to the semifinals to play Kutis Academy - Gold, who won Bracket D with five points (1-0-2). The match will be played at 3pm CT today at Lake Country Soccer Field 8.
Among the 16 teams in the Boys U14 division, the Sporting KC U14's were the only team to win all three group-stage games. The squad's +11 goal differential (14 goals for, 3 goals against) was also a division best.
Winners from the 2012 Missouri State Cup will travel to the Region 2 Championships, held June 22-27, 2012 in Saginaw, Michigan.
