Graham Zusi earns MLS Team of the Week honors

Last week was not only successful for Sporting Kansas City as a team, but winger Graham Zusi showed once again why he is one of the preeminent players in Major League Soccer. Zusi scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire, the same day that he was announced as a 2013 MLS All-Star. For his work against Chicago and in Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Vancouver, Zusi was named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.

MLSsoccer.com editor Nicholas Rosano had this to say about Zusi: Put in a tireless 180 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Vancouver and a 2-1 win at Chicago. Was all over the place in both games, finding openings, creating chances, and even bagging a goal in the Chicago game with a cross/shot. It may not have been entirely intentional, but good things happen when you put a ball like that in.

Zusi was also recently nominated for the Best MLS Player Award at the The ESPYS! Click here to vote for Zusi.

And to top it all off, Zusi was behind the plate at Kauffman Stadium on Friday night for Matt Besler's first pitch. Check out the video of the pitch below:
