Sporting Kansas City has a lot of passionate fans. Below is the story of one special Sporting KC supporter currently stationed in Afghanistan, as told by his wife Laura.
My husband, Kelly, has been deployed to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan since January. He is on a nine-month deployment - basically the entire 2013 SKC season. He LOVES Sporting, so I send him regular care packages filled with SKC updates, newspaper clippings, scarves, etc. Today, he emailed this picture of his office space! He calls it his mini-Cauldron halfway around the world.
For each home game this season, I have been inviting friends and family to sit in the "Kelly Seat." They each get their picture taken and sign the back of a special photograph that I bring along for each game. Below is a picture of our daughter, Isabel, as well as photos of other "Kelly Seat" sitters!
