Olum, Opara visit Ronald McDonald House

Monday night, Sporting KC defenders Lawrence Olum and Ike Opara stopped by the Ronald McDonald Longfellow House in Kansas City for a visit as part of the club's partnership with Toshiba.

The players took time to hand out Sporting KC flags and activity packets to the kids staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Olum and Opara also signed autographs and took pictures with the youth and their families. Some local volunteers were on site providing dinner for the families and got to meet some of their favorite players as well.

The Ronald McDonald House’s mission is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a "home away from home" while the children are receiving medical care in Kansas City-area hospitals. On any given night, as many as 67 families receive lodging at one of two Ronald McDonald House locations located near Children’s Mercy Hospital.
