#TBT: Zusi features for USMNT in historic win at Azteca -

They said it couldn't be done. They said the U.S. men's national team would never win in Mexico. It seems, though, that no one told that to Jurgen Klinsmann and the group of players that took the field at Estadio Azteca on August 15, 2012.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the USMNT's historic 1-0 win over Mexico. And while the win did nothing to improve the team's standing in World Cup qualifying and was not in an official FIFA competition, the siginificance of the victory cannot be denied.

The icing on the cake for Sporting KC fans was that Graham Zusi came off the bench and played the final 30 minutes of the match. Matt Besler was with the team in Mexico, but did not feature in the match. The experience for both players was crucial, however, as each has cemented themselves in the starting lineup for Klinsmann's side as the USMNT looks poised to clinch a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
