Operation Jammies delivers on donation -

After raising over $1,000 at a recent Sporting KC game, Jasmin Booth and Sporting KC All-Star Aurelien Collin set out to buy pajamas for patients at Children's Mercy Pediatric Hematology/Oncology department. This morning, six-year-old Booth hand delivered the pajamas that she and Collin purchased.

Booth -- diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last year -- visits Children’s Mercy once a week for her own check-ups, though today's visit had a different experience. “I’m not here for pokies and tubes. I’m here to give kids my pajamas,” Booth said.

It takes a special child to understand the needs of others and help them. “Operation Jammies” was created by Booth when she noticed other children in the hospital that did not have their parents with them every day. She wanted to make them more comfortable.

“I’m the most comfortable when I’m at home in my pajamas,” Booth said.
