Sporting Kansas City returns to MLS play on Friday evening against the Portland Timbers. The two teams will be meeting for the second time in four days following Tuesday's fifth round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match at Sporting Park. Friday is the fifth meeting in MLS play between the two sides with Portland currently on a two-match winning streak, including a 3-2 win at Sporting Park last April.
