2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League

Single-game tickets for Sporting Kansas City's two group stage matches at Sporting Park in the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League are now available to purchase via Ticketmaster.com. The reigning MLS Cup champions will host Costa Rica's Deportivo Saprissa on Sept. 18 before a rematch with Nicaraguan club Real Esteli five days later on Sept. 23. Both matches will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and are included in Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Member packages.

Please note: Due to CONCACAF regulations, no standing room only tickets will be made available to purchase for CCL matches.

Sporting Park welcomed sold out crowds for all three home matches during the 2013-14 edition of the competition, which features the top 24 teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean region competing for a berth in the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup. Sporting Kansas City advanced from the group stage with an unbeaten record (2-0-2) before falling to eventual champions Cruz Azul in the quarterfinals earlier this year.

One of five MLS teams in the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League, Sporting Kansas City was drawn into Group 2 for the following four matches:

Deportiva Saprissa will be making their fourth appearance in the current format of the competition and first since the 2010-11 edition, when they reached the semifinal stage. The club has won three CONCACAF Champions Cup titles (1993, 1995 and 2005) and feature two players from Costa Rica’s roster at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Most recently, Saprissa claimed their 30th league title in the Torneo de Verano final and in doing so surpassed Alajuelense as the most successful club in the history of the Costa Rican Primera Division.

Real Esteli -- the reigning Clausura and Apertura champions in their domestic league – are the lone Nicaraguan side to have participated in the contintental championship and have qualified every year since the 2008-09 edition. Real Esteli will meet Sporting KC in the group stage for a second straight year after going 0-3-1 during the 2013-14 tournament, with the team’s lone point coming in a 1-1 draw at Sporting Park after suffering a 2-0 loss to Sporting KC in the home leg.

Each of the eight group winners will advance to the knockout round, to be held in early 2015. Visit SportingKC.com/CCL for complete coverage of Sporting KC's run through the CONCACAF Champions League.
