VIDEO: Dom Dwyer tackles New York City

Dom Dwyer takes over New York. That's essentially what happened on Monday as the Sporting KC forward went through the proverbial car wash, visiting media members around the city to talk about this season with Sporting Kansas City and the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup.

After watching the U.S. Women's National Team in their final World Cup tune-up at Red Bull Arena, Dwyer went to New York along with his wife USWNT star Sydney Leroux to discuss her preparation for their World Cup campaign this summer and his recent MLS Goal of the Week winning strike against the New England Revolution. Here is a recap of Dwyer's day in Manhattan.

Dom started the day as a guest on CBS News and discussed the FIFA scandal and the growth of soccer in the United States.

Dwyer then popped by the MLS League office to have some fun on Periscope and join the guys on ExtraTime Radio. Dwyer discussed the recent form of Sporting KC, the addition of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard to MLS and played a quick newlywed game with Leroux.

From there, Dwyer sat down with ESPNFC to check in on his preseason bet with broadcaster Alejandro Moreno.

To close out the day, Dwyer spoke with CNN about last year's infamous selfie goal celebration and the coming Women's World Cup.
