Sporting Kansas City and Boulevard Brewing Co. announce new collaborations

Sporting KC Boulevard Brewing Collaboration

Sporting Kansas City and Boulevard Brewing Company have always had a strong partnership. That was never more evident when Boulevard honored Sporting KC’s 2013 MLS Cup championship with a limited-edition Championship Ale. Now, the two local brands are taking things to the next level with an exciting collaboration.

Sporting KC and Boulevard announced on Friday a new line of co-branded apparel that will be sold for the first time Saturday at Sporting Park. The apparel will also be available at the Westport Beer Festival on June 13 and throughout Boulevardia from June 19-21. Boulevard will carry the merchandise in its Dry Goods store at the brewery later this month and the apparel will be available for purchase on Shop.SportingKC.com.

“Our partnership with Sporting Kansas City remains one of the most unique and complementary in our respective industries,” said Jeremy Ragonese, Director of Marketing for Boulevard Brewing Company. “Our focus on fans is demonstrated in a number of ways throughout the community, and every time we are able to bring that connection to life, it underscores the power and promise of being a Kansas City brand.”

“This new wave of collaboration reflects the incredible synergy between our two brands,” said Andy Tretiak, Chief Marketing Officer of Sporting Kansas City. “We have always wanted to create an apparel line together and felt the timing was right this year. We hope fans of both Boulevard and Sporting Kansas City will love the new designs.”

In addition, Sporting KC and Boulevard have announced a new Sporting Saison that will debut at Sporting KC’s July 18 home match versus the Montreal Impact. The saison will be a limited released, draft-only version similar to the Championship Ale. The traditional farmhouse ale is described as a refreshing, easy-drinking beer with a light citrus flavor with subtle spicy notes, medium body and a minimal hop presence.

Proceeds from the sale of Sporting Saison will support LiveKC, an initiative founded by Sporting ownership and other local companies to “make Kansas City a more attractive place for Millennials to live, work and play.” LiveKC has hosted events such as The Fiery Stick Open, The Midnight Underground Circus and The Backyard at Barney Allis Plaza taking place this summer.

Both the beer and the merchandise are expected to be available throughout Sporting’s remaining 2015 season. For more details on shopping hours or game tickets, visit Boulevard.com or SportingKC.com.
