Darol Rodrock Foundation to collect donations at Children's Mercy Park for local youth in foster care

In addition to giving away Sporting Kansas City cinch bags to the first 10,000 fans inside Children's Mercy Park on Sunday, the Darol Rodrock Foundation will also be collecting donations for local children in foster care.

Donation bins will be set up at the Sprint Plaza and Boulevard Members Club gates as fans enter the stadium. Supporters are encouraged to drop off any of the following items for teenagers transitioning from foster families to independent living:


  • New toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • New brush and comb
  • Kleenex/ facial tissues
  • Bath soap
  • Cough drops
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Disinfecting wipes/ cleaning wipes
  • Disinfecting spray/ cleaning spray
  • Paper towels
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Laundry detergent
  • Fabric softener sheets
  • New or gently used towels and washcloths
  • New or gently used XL twin sheets
  • New or gently used blankets and pillows
  • New or gently used desk lamp
  • Packages of pens and pencils
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Highlighters
  • New or gently used calculators
  • New or gently used flash drives/ travel drives
  • Plain white computer paper
  • New or gently used surge protectors
  • New shower shoes/ flip flops
  • Non-perishable food and drink items
  • Cash donations
  • Gift cards (Target, grocery stores, etc.)
