Postgame Quotes: Swope Park Rangers 2-1 Tulsa Roughnecks FC

Oliveira vs. TUL

Swope Park Rangers head coach Marc Dos Santos
On tonight’s win:

“It’s great because the guys, even with the losses, the attitude has been good. Even with a man down in St. Louis, they always give everything they have. It’s a group that works very, very hard. So they deserved the result today. I think we suffered a little bit too much. Overall, we were much better than Tulsa and it’s unfortunate we suffered so much to win a game. At the end of the day, we were the best team on the field. We deserved the three points.”

On Tulsa’s style of play:

“It’s a game that’s very direct. It’s a game played very direct against Tulsa, so it’s a lot of battles of first and second ball. Then, once (Tulsa forward) Sammy Ochoa tied the game, the reaction of our guys was fantastic. Right away, we went at them. Nobody put their heads down. I think the mentality was very good and it’s a fantastic win for the group.”

Swope Park Rangers winger Tyler Pasher
Thoughts on the game:
“We held them off pretty good the whole game. They got in and got lucky off the second ball. Then, we just put our heads down and we reacted as fast as we could do it. Daniel went down the other end and got a shot off and I was lucky enough to get on the rebound for it.”
On the winning goal:

“It was pretty good. Again, it was a good through ball from Daniel and it was a great team effort. Counter attack. They had a shot. We all exploded. We stuck to our game plan and what we wanted to do and we ended up getting the goal from them.”
