KC Cauldron hosts pie-throwing contest to benefit Heartland Habitat for Humanity

KC Cauldron Pie Throwing Contest for Heartland Habitat for Humanity

The KC Cauldron showed its philanthropic side side at Sunday's tailgate, hosting a pie throwing contest benefitting Heartland Habitat for Humanity. Organizers set up a table aside the group's legendary blue bus during pre-match festivities and sold plates of shaving cream for $2 each or $5 for three. It didn't take supporters much time to line up to throw the "pies" at their rain poncho-clad peers.

"We thought the pie toss would be a fun way to raise money for Heartland Habitat for Humanity," event organizer Brandy Peed said. "It's been pretty successful! We're really excited, and it's a lot of fun."

Peed also hoped to use the event to promote Heartland Habitat for Humanity's Super Fan Build Day on June 18, where volunteers team up by sports team to help build homes and raise funds for local families. To sign up for the Sporting KC team, click here
