The Victory Project partners with TeamSmile

Team Smile 2016 Seth Sinovic

For the third year The Victory Project partnered with TeamSmile a local organization that provides free dental care for children in Kansas City who otherwise wouldn't receive it. The local organization has been providing this service for the last 10 years and partners with professional sports teams across the country. Sporting Kansas City and The Victory Project are the first MLS Soccer team to participate in the program.

This year's event hosted 300 students from various Kansas City schools, many of which had never been to the dentist before. Each student was examined to determine level of care needed before getting treatment, learning the benefits of healthy eating, proper teeth care and each had their teeth cleaned. Goodie bags were also given to each participant which included a toothbrush, toothpaste and event t-shirt.

Knowing the first visit to a dentist can be a bit scary, Sporting KC and Swope Park Rangers players were onsite to sign autographs, help apply face paint and hold hands of patients receiving treatment.
