LISTEN: Kerry Zavagnin joins Sporting KC Show on 810 WHB

Sporting Kansas City assistant coach Kerry Zavagnin joined the Sporting KC Show this week on Sports Radio 810 WHB. The Sporting Legend touched on a variety of topics including last weekend's draw against FC Dallas, the integration of new players into the club as well as the U.S. Soccer coaching course he is currently going through.

On the state of the club following the first two matches...
I think the results in terms of how we want the season to start have been both positive and a little negative. I would rather dwell on the positive at this point. When you have 180 minutes where you shut teams out and control most of the game through possession, I think that’s something to build off. I think we wanted to get a goal the other night because I thought the game deserved a goal.

On how the new players are integrating into the team...
I think one of the best things about this group is the culture of the team is fantastic. They are not short on hard work. I think from a chemistry standpoint, the relationships that come about when you are on the field is something that needs to happen organically in some ways. We can give some principles of play and give some strategy in specific games, but at the end of the day, the team is a complex group in integrating all the different personalities.  A lot of that comes organically.

Additionally, Sam McDowell, who covers Sporting KC for The Kansas City Star, joined Soren Petro on The Program to discuss the club's first two matches. Listen to the interview here:
