The Victory Project and the Sporting Club Network, presented by Price Chopper, will host their first "Recycle Your Game" soccer equipment drive on Sunday when Sporting Kansas City hosts the Colorado Rapids in a 6 p.m. CT kickoff at Children's Mercy Park.
Supporters attending the match are encouraged to bring new or gently used soccer gear to donation bins at stadium gates, providing local youth in underserved communities the equipment they need to play the sport.
In exchange for donating gear, fans will receive a 10 percent off coupon valid at any SportingStyle location. The following soccer equipment will be accepted:
- Cleats
- Indoor soccer shoes
- Shin guards
- Soccer socks (no holes)
- Soccer balls of all sizes
- Uniforms
- Backpacks
- Ball bags
Held in conjunction with National Recycling Month, the "Recycle Your Game" program will also accept donations at Sporting Kansas City's downtown office (2020 Baltimore Ave.) and the Children's Mercy Park Security Office (10185 France Family Drive).
Tickets for Sunday's game between Sporting KC and Colorado are available at SeatGeek.com, including a limited-time Family 4 Pack that consists of four game tickets, four hot dogs, four Coca-Cola products and four bags of chips for $125.
