Sporting KC defender Kevin Ellis out indefinitely with quad strain

Sporting Kansas City defender Kevin Ellis has suffered a left quad strain and will be out indefinitely, the club announced on Thursday.


Entering Saturday's home match against Minnesota United FC, Sporting Kansas City will also be without center back Erik Palmer-Brown. The homegrown defender has captained the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team to the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea Republic, where they will face Venezuela on Sunday at 1 a.m. CT.


Yesterday Sporting Kansas City announced the signing of 22-year-old center back Amer Didic from USL affiliate Swope Park Rangers. Didic will be available for selection when the club hosts Minnesota United FC at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
