The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended LA Galaxy defender Nathan Smith for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for serious foul play that endangered the safety of Benny Feilhaber in the 59th minute of the Galaxy’s match against Sporting Kansas City on June 24. Feilhaber was forced to leave the match with a leg contusion and ankle sprain and missed the club's midweek Open Cup match against Houston Dynamo.
Feilhaber is questionable for Saturday's MLS match against Portland Timbers FC.
