Storm, Moloto & Oliveira named to USL Team of the Week after 4-0 thrashing of RGVFC

Swope Park Rangers defender Colton Storm and midfielder Lebo Moloto have both been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 16. In addition, midfielder Kevin Oliveira has been named to the bench of the Team of the Week.


All three players started in the Rangersā€™ 4-0 demolition of Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday night at Swope Soccer Village. Moloto notched the opening goal with a composed finish before adding two assists on the day. He doubled his season tally for both goals and assists in the game as he now has two goals and four assists in 13 games.


Storm, Sporting KCā€™s first-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, notched his first career goal by making the score 3-0 early in the second half. Storm has made 10 appearances for SPR in 2017, adding a goal and two assists from right back.


Oliveira rounds out the group having recorded two assists on Saturday, setting up Molotoā€™s game-winning strike before adding another assist on Cameron Iwasaā€™s goal late in the game. He now has three goals and is tied with Moloto for the team lead with four assists.


The Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, July 12 with a road matchup against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at McLeod Athletic Park. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT while a live stream will be available on SportingKC.com.


USL Team of the Week

D ā€“ Joe Farrell, Rochester Rhinos: Farrell completed 69-of-72 passes and recorded the assist on Jochen Grafā€™s late game-winner as the Rhinos downed the Harrisburg City Islanders 1-0.


D ā€“ Colton Storm, Swope Park Rangers: Storm recorded his first professional goal and put in a strong overall performance down the right side in the Rangersā€™ 4-0 win against Rio Grande Valley FC.


M ā€“ Juan Pablo Caffa, Tulsa Roughnecks FC: Caffa scored from the penalty spot, and was the main catalyst for the Roughnecksā€™ 2-1 comeback victory against OKC Energy FC in the Black Gold Derby.


M ā€“ Alex Morrell, Tampa Bay Rowdies: Morrell recorded the opening assist, and played a key role in the Rowdiesā€™ second to cap a dynamic performance in a 2-0 win against FC Cincinnati.


M ā€“ Adrian Vera, LA Galaxy II: Vera had two goals in five minutes to put the Galaxy II ahead of the Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday as the side won a 4-3 thriller at Providence Park.


M ā€“ Chris Wehan, Reno 1868 FC: Wehan had two goals and two assists as 1868 FC set a USL single-game goal-scoring record in a 9-0 victory against the LA Galaxy II last Monday at Greater Nevada Field.


F ā€“ Lebo Moloto, Swope Park Rangers: Moloto had a goal and two assists as the Rangers took a 4-0 victory against Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday night.


F ā€“ Chandler Hoffman, Real Monarchs SLC: Hoffman had three goals and two assists in a pair of Monarchs victories that moved Real eight points clear at the top of the Western Conference.


F ā€“ Jorge Herrera, Charlotte Independence: Herrera scored five goals in two Independence victories against Pittsburgh and Saint Louis as the teamā€™s winning streak reached five games.
