Swope Park Rangers partner with Truman Library for Saturday full of family activities

The Swope Park Rangers are teaming up with the Truman Library Institute for a free day of family fun this weekend.

Swope Park Rangers Day at the Truman Library will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT Saturday at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri (500 W US Hwy 24). Free festivities on the museum lawn will include a futsal field, a bounce house, face painting and yard games for all ages, as well as appearances from a player and mascot Hat Trick Harry.

The event will also feature food trucks and free Italian ice, with hot dogs on sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sports-themed tours of the Truman Library will be available for fans on-site.

The same theme will carry into Saturday evening during Truman Night at the Swope Park Rangers game. SPR hosts Orange County Blues SC at 7:30 p.m. CT at Children’s Mercy Victory Field inside Swope Soccer Village, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Harry and Bess Truman Bobblehead.

Match tickets are $20 — or just $14 for Truman Library Institute Members — by clicking here and using the “17Truman” access code. Fans may also purchase the Presidential Package for $40, which features access to a hospitality tent and buffet dinner with exclusive seating at the game, by calling 913-951-3562.

Each $20 ticket purchased online using the access code “17Truman” includes free admission to the Truman Library, with a portion of these ticket sales going directly to the Truman Statue Fund to raise money for a new Truman statue in the National Statuary Hall in Washington, D.C.

This weekend’s Western Conference showdown pits two teams who met in the 2016 postseason as the Rangers defeated Orange County 2-1 en route to an appearance in the USL Cup Final last October.
