SPR forward Nansel Selbol named to USL Team of the Week

Nansel Selbol vs. Real Monarchs SLC - August 18, 2017

Swope Park Rangers forward Nansel Selbol has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 22. He’s joined on the Team of the Week by fellow striker Kharlton Belmar, who makes the bench.

Selbol entered the game at halftime with the Rangers down 2-0 to Real Monarchs SLC on Friday night, and the Sporting KC Academy product pulled a goal back for his side in the 60th minute with a low drive from distance.

That goal was nominated for the USL Fan’s Choice Goal of the Week, with voting set to close at 8 a.m. CT on Thursday. Selbol has already won the USL’s Goal of the Month award for both June and July.

Belmar was named to the bench after he also came off the bench at halftime to assist on Selbol’s goal before scoring the equalizer in the 82nd minute when he crashed a finish into the net off Tyler Pasher’s low cross.

Selbol, Belmar and the Swope Park Rangers are back in action tomorrow night when the side faces Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento, Calif. with kickoff set for 10 p.m. CT. The side will remain on the road this weekend to take on Reno 1868 FC at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday, Aug. 26.
