Sporting KC Academy huddle - Winter Showcase

Sporting Kansas City Academy midfielder Osvaldo Cisneros has joined the United States U-15 Boys' National Team for a domestic training camp that kicks off the 2018-19 player cycle for the age group.

Cisneros joins a 36-player pool under U.S. U-15 head coach Dave van den Bergh, who will oversee a weeklong program that begins today and concludes next Saturday, Jan. 20, in Sunrise, Florida. The U-15 BNT will play one intra-squad scrimmage and a pair of matches against U.S. Soccer Development Academy club Weston FC.

Cisneros, a 13-year-old native of Omaha, Nebraska, is participating in his first-ever U.S. youth national team camp. He has split time this season between the Sporting KC U-14s and U-15s, making making eight total appearances throughout the 2017-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy campaign.

The U-15 camp comes shortly after U.S. Soccer’s inaugural Men’s Youth National Team Summit Camp, which saw 153 elite players from the U-16 through U-20 youth national teams train from Jan. 2-11 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Four Sporting KC Academy products competed at last week's event, including U-16 forward Tyler Freeman, U-17 forward and Sporting KC Homegrown Player Gianluca Busio, U-18 defender Cameron Duke and U-19 defender and Sporting KC Homegrown Player Jaylin Lindsey.
