Two MLS matches to air nationally on Sunday after World Cup Final

National TV - 2018 Week 20 DL

The soccer world will have its eyes laser-focused on Sunday's 2018 FIFA World Cup Final between France and Croatia, set for 10 a.m. CT on FOX.

But once the momentous match concludes and a new world champion is crowned, FOX will lead straight into a high-profile MLS showdown between Supporters' Shield leaders Atlanta United FC (12-4-4, 40 points) and Seattle Sounders FC (4-9-4, 16 points) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, kicking off at 1 p.m. CT.

The cross-conference clash in Atlanta is the first of two marquee MLS matches set to air nationally on Sunday, with Los Angeles Football Club (10-4-4, 34 points) hosting the Portland Timbers (8-3-5, 29 points) in a battle between red-hot teams at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN.

In addition to enjoying Sunday's MLS double-dip, fans will be able to catch Sporting Kansas City (9-4-6, 33 points) against the New York Red Bulls (10-5-2, 32 points) at 6 p.m. CT Saturday on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest Plus and FOX Sports GO. The game serves as a rematch of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final, which saw Sporting KC prevail 2-1 last September at Children's Mercy Park.

An hour after kickoff at Red Bull Arena, longtime England international Wayne Rooney could be primed to make his D.C. United debut when the capital club (2-7-5, 11 points) hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC (7-7-5, 26 points) in the first game ever played at the new Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+, which is available for only $4.99 per month.
