Adrian Zendejas' stunning stop nominated for USL Save of the Week

Goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas has been nominated for the USL Save of the Week following a stunning stop while playing for the Swope Park Rangers in a 1-0 victory over Fresno FC at Children's Mercy Park on Sunday afternoon.

Midway through the first half, with the Rangers 1-0 up through Hadji Barry's goal, Fresno won a corner kick that deflected into the path of Danny Barrera who slammed a volley on frame from point-blank range, only for Zendejas to tip it onto the bar. The Sporting KC loanee has now posted four shutouts in 10 games this season, helping the Rangers to a 13-9-7 record and sixth place in the Western Conference.

The Rangers are back in action this weekend when the side hosts rivals Saint Louis FC at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday, Sept. 15. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. CT on ESPN+ with tickets available via SeatGeek.com.
