Listen: Sporting KC forward Tyler Freeman joins Hot 103 Jamz!

Sporting Kansas City's most recent signing made headlines earlier this month, signing a Homegrown deal at just 15 years of age.

That would be Sporting KC Academy product and Shawnee native Tyler Freeman, who officially joined his hometown club on Oct. 2 after putting pen to paper at Pinnacle.

Freeman, the second-youngest player in club history, will officially be added to Sporting KC's roster ahead of the 2019 season. Until then, the 15-year-old will continue to prepare with plenty of excitement knowing he has the chance to represent the club he fell in love with as a little kid.

On Wednesday afternoon, Freeman joined the Hot 103 Jamz! studio to discuss the start of his professional career and reflect on some of his brightest memories growing up as a Sporting KC fan.

"To have the opportunity to be signed so young and play for the hometown team that I love, it's just so exciting," Freeman said. "This has always been my team. It's always been the team I've watched, so now to be a part of it feels crazy."

And since Hot 103 Jamz! is a music station, Freeman made sure to talk about some of his favorite artists in the rap genre.
