Sporting KC teams up with Compass Minerals

Compass Minerals

Sporting Kansas City is proud to announce Compass Minerals® as the preferred plant nutrition and salt provider of Sporting Kansas City. The partnership, a strategic connection between two Kansas City area companies, will further Sporting KC’s commitment to playing on the most pristine pitches in Major League Soccer.

The club’s home field at Children’s Mercy Park, as well as the world-class super pitch at their National Development Center at Pinnacle, will be treated with Compass Minerals’ specialty plant nutrition portfolio of turf products. In addition, to help ensure the safety of players and visitors during the winter months, the club also will use the company’s premium deicing products at all Sporting KC facilities.

“This partnership brings together two industry leaders with a shared dedication to excellence, innovation and sustainability,” said Sporting Kansas City Vice President of Operations Dan Lolli. “We’re thrilled to welcome Compass Minerals as our newest strategic partner to help provide an elite environment for our players and coaches across our facilities.”

“As a global company based in Overland Park, we’re excited to support Sporting KC and its growing fan base, which include many of our employees,” said Ryan Bartlett, vice president of innovation and product development at Compass Minerals. “We have a diverse staff of chemists, agronomists, soil scientists, engineers, geologists and plant physiologists at our North American Innovation Center, and we’re looking forward to sharing our expertise and working with the crews at each Sporting KC facility to ensure the highest quality turf conditions for their premier athletes.”
