Sporting KC Show Podcast: Daniel Salloi and Graham Zusi preview Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs

The Sporting KC Show, held throughout the season on Sports Radio 810 WHB, is now available on Spotify and iTunes. With Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine hosting the weekly program, Sporting KC fans now have a place to go to catch up on club storylines, player achievements, guest interviews and more.

A new episode of the Sporting KC Show Podcast dropped Tuesday night as hosts Nate Bukaty and Carter Augustine were joined by Sporting Kansas City duo Daniel Salloi and Graham Zusi to reflect on a historic regular season and preview the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Salloi, who scored the game-winner in Sunday's 2-1 defeat of LAFC, wrapped up Sporting KC Golden Boot honors with his 11th MLS goal and his 13th in all competitions. His 72nd-minute strike on Decision Day marked his third straight match with a game-winning goal, becoming the first player in club history to accomplish the feat.

Zusi, meanwhile, assisted Roger Espinoza's long-range stunner that gave Sporting KC a first-half lead. The right back was one of just four MLS field players, alongside teammate Ilie Sanchez, to play every minute in all 34 regular season matches this season, but endured a scare in the late stages of Sunday's contest when he suffered a bone-jarring knock in a crowded penalty area and coughed up blood. Zusi has recovered since then and is eager for the start of Sporting KC's playoff campaign, which will begin Sunday on the road in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals.

While Salloi and Zusi provided player insight, the podcast also featured an appearance from Sporting KC color commentator Matt Lawrence, who discussed why he believes this team has what it takes to win the 2018 MLS Cup.

  • 2:08 - Daniel Salloi reflects on goal-scoring success
  • 18:28 - Matt Lawrence recaps Decision Day and previews the Knockout Round
