Tickets on sale now for Sporting KC's first two home games of 2019

Little more than a month has passed since Sporting Kansas City’s 2018 campaign came to a close, but as the calendar turns to 2019, fans should already by licking their lips for the new season.

Manager Peter Vermes’ men will get down to business sooner than ever before, commencing preseason training on Jan. 13 in Scottsdale, Arizona. And before we know it, Sporting KC will take the field at Children’s Mercy Park for their earliest competitive match in club history.

That particular date is set for Thursday, Feb. 21, when Sporting KC open their 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League journey against Mexican side Deportivo Toluca FC. Tickets for the 7 p.m. CT matchup are on sale now via SeatGeek.com, giving supporters the opportunity to experience North America’s premier club tournament in the first leg of an aggregate-goal series that will be decided the following Thursday, Feb. 28, in Central Mexico.

Following the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16, Sporting KC will jump straight into the 2019 MLS regular season. The full schedule will be released in the near term, but we already know that Vermes’ side will begin the season away at LAFC on Sunday, March 3.

The following weekend, Sporting KC will host the Philadelphia Union in their MLS home opener at Children’s Mercy Park. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 10, and tickets to the game are available at SeatGeek.com.

Do the wildly simple math, and that’s two matches that Sporting KC fans can secure tickets to during the first week of January. Certainly not a bad way to start 2019.

Single-game tickets for the first half of Sporting KC’s 2019 home schedule will go on sale later this month. Click here for a full list of key dates for 2019 involving MLS, the Champions League, the Swope Park Rangers, U.S. Soccer, international competitions and more.
