The Swope Park Rangers claimed a 2-1 victory over North Texas SC at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday morning as the side continues preseason ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season.
The Rangers fell behind to North Texas, the USL League One side for MLS club FC Dallas, in the fifth minute when FCD Academy product Ricardo Pepi fired home from the edge of the area, and the hosts held on to that slender lead until halftime.
Two minutes after the interval, the Rangers were level. Sporting KC Academy product Wilson Harris spun his man in the area and the ball dribbled out to Jerome Ngom Mbekeli who fired home from close range.
The Rangers took the lead in the 53rd minute when trialist Enoch Mushagalusa beat his man and drove into the area before slotting a cool finish into the bottom corner, making the score 2-1. The Rangers would hold on to that lead through full time to pick up their second consecutive win in preseason.
The Rangers are back in preseason action this Saturday, February 16 when the side continues their road trip with a match against Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Titan Sports and Performance Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
