The Swope Park Rangers suffered a 2-1 defeat over against Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Titan Sports and Performance Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon to conclude a two-game preseason trip ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season.
The Roughnecks took the lead on the stroke of halftime, when Cristhian Altamirano converted a penalty kick following a foul in the penalty area.
The Rangers pressed for an equalizer in the second half and got their reward in the 85th minute when two Sporting KC Academy players linked up. Enzo Mauriz curled in a free kick that Kaveh Rad flicked into the back of the net to level the game at 1-1.
However, the hosts hit right back two minutes later as Fabian Bastidas knocked the ball home off a corner kick to give Tulsa the win and hand the Rangers their first defeat of preseason.
