Rangers forward Jerome Ngom Mbekeli up for USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week award

Jerome Ngom Mbekeli shot - Swope Park Rangers vs. Bethlehem Steel FC - April 6, 2019

Swope Park Rangers forward Jerome Ngom Mbekeli is one of five finalists for the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week award. Fans can visit USLChampionship.com to cast their vote for Mbekeli through 11 a.m. CT on Thursday.

Mbekeli's scintillating finish into the top-left corner was the greatest goal of a 4-3 thriller against Bethlehem Steel FC that saw the Rangers fall in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday afternoon at Children's Mercy Park. The 20-year-old Cameroonian delivered an excellent performance from start to finish, scoring twice while consistently causing danger for the Steel FC backline.

Now in his first season with the Rangers, Mbekeli is on the Week 5 Goal of the Week poll alongside San Antonio FC's Bradford Jamieson, Portland Timbers 2's Ryan Sierakowski, Charleston Battery's Zeiko Lewis and Real Monarchs' Joao Plata.

The Rangers will conclude their three-game homestand next Monday, April 15, hosting Indy Eleven in a 7 p.m. CT kickoff at Children’s Mercy Park. Ticket for the inaugural regular-season meeting between the clubs are available now at SeatGeek.com.
