After months of patiently waiting, Sporting Kansas City fans will finally be rewarded with the return of Major League Soccer this Saturday.
Embarking on its 25th season as an MLS original, Sporting will kick off their 2020 campaign at 9:30 p.m. CT against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place. FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest Plus and FOX Sports GO will provide three hours of live coverage, while listeners can catch the action on Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish).
With the new season comes palpable excitement, and what better way to celebrate opening day than by joining other Sporting fanatics for a watch party?
Fortunately for supporters in the Kansas City area, there is no shortage of options this weekend. At the forefront, Johnny's Tavern in Prairie Village, Kansas (8262 Mission Rd.) will punctuate the First Kick Party in Corinth Square with an all-ages viewing experience highlighted by drink specials and several prize giveaways.
For hot spots beyond Johnny's in Prairie Village, look no further than the Sporting Pub Network, a collection of 15 soccer-friendly destinations across the Kansas City area and Wichita. This network of pubs will cater to Sporting Kansas City supporters on every away matchday, featuring food and drink specials, VIP and enter-to-win opportunities, mascot appearances, raffles and prize giveaways.
The 2020 pub network includes 12 new and exciting additions, with No Other Pub and both Chicken N Pickle locations in North Kansas City and Wichita also returning as flagship hubs for Sporting watch parties.
