MLS Week 1: Five matches to air live on national TV as 25th season kicks off in style

Sporting Kansas City fanatics itching for the return of MLS action will be in hog heaven this weekend, first and foremost because Manager Peter Vermes' men begin their 2020 campaign at 9:30 p.m. CT Saturday against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Western Conference clash at BC Place will air live on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest Plus, FOX Sports GO, Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.


And that's just the tip of the iceberg.


Celebrating the start of its 25th season in scintillating style, Major League Soccer will treat followers to five nationally televised fixtures in Week 1.


The mouthwatering slate begins in earnest on Saturday, with the Houston Dynamo hosting the star-studded LA Galaxy on Twitter and Univision and expansion side Nashville SC hosting heavyweights Atlanta United FC on FOX.


Soccer Sunday will feature a trio of contests, beginning with an ESPN doubleheader that will see reigning champions Seattle Sounders FC host the Chicago Fire and defending Supporters' Shield holders LAFC meeting David Beckham's expansion team Inter Miami CF. In the FS1 nightcap, Minnesota United FC will visit the Portland Timbers.
