As one of Major League Soccer's proud charter members, Sporting has a decorated past full of thrilling victories, amazing goals, momentous off-the-field developments and more. Today's edition of "On This Day" deviates from Sporting Kansas City's proud past and pays heed to a special date in the history of Major League Soccer.

Twenty-four years ago today, the San Jose Clash and D.C. United locked horns in the inaugural MLS match at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, California. Eric Wynalda scored the game's lone goal, sealing a San Jose win and effectively crafting one of the most iconic moments MLS has ever seen.

To celebrate this seminal occasion, the â€śMLS Classics: Remix” series will continue today with a re-airing of the first-ever MLS match.

During the stream, legends Jeff Agoos and Eric Wynalda, who played in the game, will join D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid and MLS Extratime host David Gass to provide realtime video commentary via KISWE's streaming technology.

The match, which will air on YouTubeFacebook with live coverage on Twitter, will kick off at 3 p.m. CT. It’s the third installment of the “MLS Classics: Remix” where players and analysts are joining during the stream of matches. Click here for the complete MLS Classics: Remix schedule.
