FOX Sports Kansas City to re-air Sporting's 2018 road win over San Jose at 7 and 9 p.m. CT Saturday

On Sept. 15, 2018, Gerso Fernandes and Sporting Kansas City put the San Jose Earthquakes to the sword at Avaya Stadium. And on Saturday night at 7 and 9 p.m. CT, Sporting fans can tune into FOX Sports Kansas City for a re-airing of the classic match.

Manager Peter Vermes' men raced to an emphatic 5-1 victory behind Gerso's two goals and two assists, which helped vault Sporting back into first place in the Western Conference during a crucial juncture of the campaign. Felipe Gutierrez, Ike Opara and Krisztian Nemeth also found the back of the net, marking the second time in club history that Sporting had bagged five goals in a regular season road game.

Gerso, meanwhile, became the third player in Kansas City history to record two goals and two assists in an MLS match, joining Sporting Legends Preki (1996, 1998) and Josh Wolff (2005). Coming on the heels of 2-0 wins at LA Galaxy and LAFC earlier that season, Sporting had added a beatdown of San Jose to their impressive bag of recent results in the Golden State. Between June 2016 and September 2018, Vermes' men went 5-0-2 on California soil while outscoring opponents 13-3.
