Sporting KC's match vs. Colorado Rapids on July 17 to be televised on ESPN2

Sporting Kansas City's match against the Colorado Rapids in the group stage of the MLS is Back Tournament will be televised live nationally this Friday, July 17, on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN app.


Originally slated to air on ESPN, the Group D clash has moved to ESPN2 as Sporting Kansas City (2-1-0, 6 points) looks to bounce back from Sunday's tournament-opening 2-1 defeat to Minnesota United FC against a Colorado side that also lost its first game of the competition against Real Salt Lake.


Friday's contest between Sporting and Colorado will also air live locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.


Marking the emphatic return of Major League Soccer after a four-month hiatus, the MLS is Back Tournament kicked off July 8 and will consist of 16 straight days of group stage action through July 23. The 24 participating teams have been divided into six groups of four, with the top two finishers in Groups A through F as well as the four best third-place finishers advancing to the knockout rounds. 


The Round of 16 will run from July 25-28, followed by the Quarterfinals (July 30 – Aug. 1), Semifinals (Aug. 5-6) and Final on Aug. 11. For more information about the one-of-a-kind competition, visit SportingKC.com/MLSisBack.
