SKC II Preview: Sporting KC II concludes three-game road trip on Sunday against Whitecaps FC 2

Sporting Kansas City II will conclude a three-game, pacific coast, road trip on Sunday when they go toe-to-toe with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, British Columbia. The game will commence at 6 p.m. CT and can be streamed for free in the OneFootball app and on MLSNEXTPro.com. 

The two sides last met in April when Sporting KC II took home a 3-2 win over Vancouver at Victory Park. Missael Rodriguez, Zamir Loyo Reynaga and Kashan Hines all found the back of the net in the win with Hines' winner coming in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.

Hines has caught fire since April, bagging seven goals and adding one assist in 14 starts. His seven goals are the most on the team. Rodriguez has six goals and two assists this season, tied for second most goals on the team with Tega Ikoba. His two assists is tied for second most for Kansas City as well.

Loyo Reynaga's 89th minute leveler against Vancouver was the 15-year-old's first professional goal. The midfielder has received call ups to both the Mexican and United States youth national teams this season.

Leading the way in assists for Sporting this season is attacker Shane Donovan. Playing in both the midfield and out on the wing, Donovan has three assists and four goals. His seven total goal contributions trail Hines and Rodriguez by just one.

Vancouver will host SKC II after picking up a 4-1 win over LAFC 2 on Wednesday night at home. They will be fighting for their playoff lives on Sunday, sitting on 22 points, chasing fellow Pacific Division outfits Tacoma Defiance and Quakes II. Their talisman has been Daniel Ittycheria who has nine goals and an assist, including a goal against LAFC 2. 

Sporting KC II will play their final two home games of the 2026 season after Sunday's trip to the Great White North. They will host St. Louis CITY 2 on Saturday, Sept. 5 and LAFC 2 on Sunday, Sept. 13. Both games will kick at 7 p.m. CT and will air live on MLSNEXTPro.com and in the OneFootball app. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com for just $10.
