SKC II Preview: Sporting KC II faces Austin FC II at Parmer Field on Sunday night

Sporting Kansas City II will take their two match win streak on the road when they take on Austin FC II on Sunday night at Parmer Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT with free livestreams available on MLSNEXTPro.com and in the OneFootball app. 

Sporting KC II has won two straight, first defeating MNUFC 2 1-0 before knocking off Dynamo Dos 3-2 last Friday. In the win over Houston, Kashan Hines scored his first professional brace while Missael Rodriguez netted his sixth goal of the campaign.

Hines, an SKC Academy forward paces the team in both goals and goal contributions. He has seven goals and one assist in 2026, tallying three goals and four assists in his last three games. Rodriguez has six goals and one assist on the campaign and has scored in back-to-back games.

Blaine Mabie and Gael Quintero have been holding down the midfield for head coach Lee Tschantret in the last two games. Quintero has started 15 of 18 appearances this season adding one goal. Shane Donovan has been a versatile tool for Tschantret in 2026, playing both in the midfield and up top. Donovan has come into his own in his second pro season, notching four goals and three assists in 19 starts.

Mitch Ferguson has appeared in four straight games, starting three in a row. The rookie centerback picked up an injury early in the year but has returned to the pitch and joined Pierre Lurot on the backline. Lurot has played every minute this season, accumulating 1800 minutes, the most on the team. He is the only SKC II player to start every game. 

Goalkeeper Jack Kortkamp picked up his fifth result in nine starts. He has nine starts and 34 goalkeeper saves. Jacob Molinaro has started 11 games and leads the team with 38 saves.

Austin enters the weekend atop the MLS NEXT Pro Supporters’ Shield standings. Led by head coach Jason Shackell, Austin has lost just two games in 2026. They are in the midst of a three match unbeaten run but suffered a 3-2 loss against MNUFC 2 in their last home match on July 12. Austin's leading scorer is Jorge Alastuey who has nine goals.
