Sporting KC II signs Academy player Jack Francka to an MLS NEXT Pro amateur contract

Singular signing

Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed Sporting Kansas City Academy player Jack Francka to an MLS NEXT Pro amateur contract ahead of Sunday's MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day matchup against MNUFC 2.

Amateur contracts are signed on a single-game basis, preserving Francka's NCAA eligibility. He will be available for selection for the team's 2025 season finale against MNUFC 2 on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT at National Sports Center Stadium.

Born and raised in Lee's Summit, Missouri, Francka joined the Sporting KC Academy Center of Excellence (COE) in the Spring of 2016. Since then, the versatile midfielder/defender has played for all age groups in the SKC Academy from U-12 up through the U-18s, representing the club at prestigious events. The Kansas City native is currently playing with the U-18s but captained the U-16s at MLS NEXT Fest, GA Cup, MLS NEXT Flex and the MLS NEXT Cup Showcase throughout the 2024-25 MLS NEXT Season.

Interim head coach Ike Opara and SKC II will put a bow on the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season on Sunday in a 3 p.m. showdown against MNUFC 2 on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The game will commence simultaneously with the rest of the Western Conference as a part of MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day.
