Sporting Kansas City defender Aurelien Collin has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for last week's performance against the Colorado Rapids. The veteran defender started and played 90 minutes in Sporting KC's 2-1 win over the Rapids on Saturday. Collin was part of a back line that shut out Rapids Designated Player Gabriel Torres and limited the visitors' scoring opportunities.
MLSsoccer.com editor Nicholas Rosano was concise in his praise of Collin saying: Simply dominant on the Sporting KC backline as KC edged out a close-fought 2-1 battle against the Colorado Rapids.
Both Collin and winger Graham Zusi were named to SI.com's Team of the Week for Saturday's performances. Zusi played 90 minutes and scored the game-winner in the 88th minute. Zusi also finished 18th in MLSsoccer.com's Castrol Index for Week 27 and is ranked 12th overall in the Castrol Index for 2013.
