Graham Zusi to miss Sunday's #SKCvLA match with a calf strain

Graham Zusi 2 - Sporting KC vs. Columbus Crew SC - July 5, 2016

Sporting Kansas City will be without four-time MLS All-Star and U.S. Menā€™s National Team mainstay Graham Zusi for Sundayā€™s nationally televised match against LA Galaxy. Zusi suffered a calf strain while with the national team for the recent World Cup qualifiers against St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup veteran has appeared in 18 matches this year with one goal and four assists. He featured in all five matches for the U.S. MNT at this summerā€™s Copa America Centenario and played 90 minutes in a 6-0 win over St. Vincent earlier this month.

Sporting KC will also be without defenders Lawrence Olum (abdominal strain) and Chance Myers (thigh strain) as well as winger Justin Mapp (calf injury). Sundayā€™s match will kick off at 1 p.m. CT and will be shown regionally on FOX as well as nationally on ESPN Deportes and online on FOX Sports GO.

Sporting KC is currently in fifth place in the Western Conference, one point ahead of sixth place Portland Timbers and five points ahead of seventh place Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The top six teams in each conference make the playoffs with the top four teams guaranteed at least one home game.
