Academy Assistant Coach
HECTOR SOLORIO is a product of the Sporting Kansas City Academy, where he competed with the club's U-16 and U-18 teams before continuing his playing career at Niagara University in the NCAA's Division I. He later returned to Kansas City to play professionally with the Kansas City Comets.
Solorio joins Sporting Kansas City as an assistant coach after several years of coaching throughout the Kansas City area. His coaching experience has been centered on player development and creating opportunities for young athletes, with a strong commitment to serve underserved communities.
Prior to joining Sporting KC, Solorio served as Director of Coaching at Ryogoku Soccer Academy, where he supported player growth through multiple stages of development while mentoring coaches and building a proactive learning environment. He plays a key role in expanding access to the game through his work at Mattie Rhodes, where he continues to develop a strong partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation and oversees after-school soccer initiatives that positively impact youth across Kansas City's urban core.
Originally from Aguascalientes, Mexico, Solorio currently holds a U.S. Soccer B License and earned a Master of Business Administration degree.
