Hot off a 3-1 road win over Houston Dynamo FC last Saturday, Sporting Kansas City will take a four-game unbeaten streak to the West Coast this weekend by facing LAFC at 8 p.m. CT Sunday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The rematch of last year's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final will be available to watch on Apple TV with an MLS Season Pass subscription, while local radio broadcasts will air on ESPN 94.5 FM and 1510 AM.
Sporting enters the summer with a 4-3-3 record since interim head coach Kerry Zavagnin took the helm at the start of April. Key to Kansas City's uptick has been an improvement in road performances, as Sporting has gone a respectable 2-2-2 away from home dating back to April 19. LAFC, meanwhile, continues to make BMO Stadium a fortress: the Hollywood heavyweights are 9-1-1 on home soil across all competitions and remain one of the premier teams in the Western Conference.
With Sunday's showdown just around the corner, we take a statistical look at the fixture in our newest edition of By The Numbers presented by Compass Minerals.
