Kansas City, a Candidate Host City for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, will host the Concacaf Gold Cup for the third time (2011, 2015, 2019) at Children’s Mercy Park, which has welcomed many of the sport’s most prestigious matches at the club, college and international levels. Taking place every two years, the Concacaf Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region, which includes North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Group D in the 2019 Gold Cup is arguably the most compelling of the competition and features three of the six teams from the final round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying, including the six-time Gold Cup champion United States led by 20-year-old midfielder Christian Pulisic. The June 26 doubleheader will serve as the all-important group stage finale, finalizing the eight-team field for the single-elimination knockout rounds.

2019 Concacaf Gold Cup – Group D International Rankings

One week after four Concacaf nations take the field in Kansas City, a mouthwatering MLS regular season matchup will take center stage as Sporting hosts Mexican international Carlos Vela and LAFC. The July 3 contest, featuring a pair of high-scoring clubs with lofty aspirations, will be followed by a postgame fireworks show.

Featuring the likes of Vela, Diego Rossi and former Sporting winger Latif Blessing, LAFC sits atop the MLS standings and leads the league in goals scored. Sporting won both head-to-head meetings in 2018 before conceding in the final seconds of a 2-1 loss at LAFC in the 2019 season opener on March 3. The fixture will also pit two of Major League Soccer’s most successful coaches as Manager Peter Vermes and LAFC head coach Bob Bradley square off.

Single-game tickets for each of Sporting’s final 12 regular season home matches, including Saturday’s clash against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, are now on sale at SeatGeek.com.
