Major League Soccer announced today the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 17 of the regular season with Sporting Kansas City forward Dejan Joveljic honored as one of the top 20 players in the league following the team's 2-1 victory over Minnesota United FC on Wednesday.
The Designated Player opened the scoring at Sporting Park with his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 28th minute, giving the Serbian striker goals in back-to-back games since the World Cup break. Joveljic now has eight goals and two assists this year and is one of only three MLS players with 10 goal contributions in each of the past five seasons (2022-2026) along with Hany Mukhtar and Cristian Espinoza.
After the mid-week match, Sporting Kansas City will return to the road to take on LAFC at 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at BMO Stadium. The Western Conference match-up will be available to watch in English and Spanish on Apple TV while pub partners across the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action. In addition, local radio coverage will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
