After a 3-1 victory over Vancouver on Saturday to open the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs, Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes appeared on a pair of programs this week ahead of the Western Conference Semifinals. Vermes joined Nate Bukaty, Aly Trost and Jacob Peterson on the Sporting KC Show before catching up with Jillian Sakovits and Susannah Collins on The Call Up.

Vermes sat down with The Sporting KC Show on Tuesday before the Seattle Sounders FC and Real Salt Lake match-up. After discussing the possibility of playing both teams and how the team trained without knowing their opponent, Vermes talked about the demeanor of the team going forward in the playoffs. The trio then conversed about Graham Zusi’s goal, Khiry Shelton’s form, Alan Pulido’s availability and the turning point from earlier in the season.

Vermes then hopped on a video call with Sakovits and Collins, who was present for the Round One match at Children's Mercy Park and began the show talking about how much fun she had in Kansas City. When Vermes joined the show, they hit on topics that included Decision Day drama, Sporting’s tight-knit group, Thanksgiving with the Vermes family and much more.

Sporting KC is back in action at Children’s Mercy Park in a Western Conference Semifinal showdown with Real Salt Lake on Sunday, Nov. 28. A limited number of tickets are available at SeatGeek.com and the match kicks off at 2 p.m. CT. A spot in the Western Conference Finals is on the line as Vermes and Sporting Kansas City are out to capture a third MLS Cup title in the club’s storied history.
