New edition of Behind the Shield presented by Audi provides all-access look at road result in Los Angeles

New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.

This week's BTS captures the sights and sounds from the club's road result at Los Angeles FC, taking viewers along for the ride from the charter flight to the team bus to the locker room.

Fans can also hear from Jake Davis, Andreu Fontas, Tim Leibold and Tim Melia -- who combined for the club's first clean sheet of the campaign -- during the 14-minute episode, which can be seen on SportingKC.com, Sporting Kansas City's YouTube channel and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

"Our defense this year to start - it's only been three games - but they have been very, very good. I don't think they're getting as much credit as they deserve," said Melia. "Shutouts for me are not just down to a goalkeeper or defense. For me, the whole team has to be bought in to collect that shutout...When everyone's collectively trying to defend, that's when you get those shutouts and we did a really good job doing that as a group."

Sporting Kansas City will next host the San Jose Earthquakes, led by MLS All-Star Cristian Espinoza, at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park. Tickets for the Western Conference clash are available online at SeatGeek, including the Coca-Cola Friends & Family 4-Pack, Wild West 5-Pack and Sporting U Pass. All 14 MLS matches this weekend will stream free on Apple TV with MLS Season Pass and SKCvSJ will air locally on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action, including a watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District. Food and drink specials will start at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, including $4 domestics, $5 wells and 50% off nachos.
