After a league-wide break last weekend during the FIFA international window, Sporting Kansas City will resume the MLS regular season with a road trip to play Real Salt Lake at 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
The Western Conference match-up will be available to watch live in English (Christian Miles and Kacey White) and Spanish (Raul Guzman) on Apple TV in addition to local radio coverage on Sports Radio 810 WHB (Blake Aerni and Jon Kempin and La Grande 1340 AM (Josue Orantes and Diego Gutierrez). Pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action, including the club's official watch party at Dos Lokos in Westport.

Saturday's showdown renews a longstanding rivalry between Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake highlighted by three meetings in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Sporting notably defeated RSL in the 2013 MLS Cup at Sporting Park, prevailing 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Sporting also eliminated RSL in the 2018 Western Conference Semifinals by a 5-3 scoreline on aggregate, while RSL earned a 2-1 comeback win over SKC in the Western Conference Semifinals in 2021.
Sporting returns to the road this weekend after earning a 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy in the team's last away match. Designated Player Dejan Joveljic opened the scoring with his team-leading third goal of the season in the victory and the 26-year-old striker returned to Kansas City on Wednesday after making two appearances for the Serbian national team in international friendlies against Spain and Saudi Arabia.

Sporting Kansas City newcomer Lasse Berg Johnsen -- who helped Norway qualify for FIFA World Cup 26 with appearances in a pair of World Cup qualifying wins last year -- enjoyed a sublime debut against LA, becoming the first SKC player since 1996 to record a game-winning goal and an assist in his first regular season appearance for the club.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who was acquired in a transfer from Swedish side Malmo FF, followed up the performance with an assist in Sporting's 4-1 loss to the Colorado Rapids last time out. Berg Johnsen is one of only three players in club history to record an assist in each of his first two regular season matches for the team along with Stephen Armstrong (2002) and Ryan Smith (2010).
RSLvSKC features two of the most revamped rosters in Major League Soccer this season as Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake each signed more than a dozen players since the end of the 2025 campaign.

Led by head coach Pablo Mastroeni, Real Salt Lake's roster is headlined by MLS All-Star Diego Luna who could be poised to make his first start of the season on Saturday after leading the team in goals (nine) and assists (seven) last year. The hosts also added Uruguay international Juan Manuel Sanabria and Designated Player Morgan Guilavogui, who brings experience in France's Ligue 1 and Germany's Bundesliga.
Despite missing seven players due to injury, Real Salt Lake earned a 2-2 draw at San Diego in their most recent match to stretch the team's unbeaten run to four games. The streak has been extended in back-to-back games with late goals by second-half substitutes as Stijn Spierings struck for an 88th-minute game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Austin on March 14 before Victor Olatunji scored an 85th-minute equalizer against San Diego on March 22.
Real Salt Lake has also benefitted from the contributions of 18-year-old Aiden Hezarkhani and 19-year-old Zavier Gozo. The duo have started all five games on the right side of an RSL attack that leads the Western Conference with 80 shots and nine goals from open play.
