Recap: 10-man Rangers fall 2-0 on road at Saint Louis FC

The Swope Park Rangers (5-3-4, 19 points) suffered a 2-0 loss against Saint Louis FC (4-4-5, 17 points) on Saturday at Toyota Stadium in Fenton, Mo.

Corey Hertzog opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Amer Didic was whistled for bringing down Albert Dikwa at the edge of the penalty area. The goal snapped SPR's 235-minute shutout streak over a span of four matches.

The Rangers, who played the final 20 minutes with 10 men after Bryam Rebellon received his second caution of the night from referee Michael Radchuk, then conceded the game's final goal on a well-taken effort by Joey Calistri in the 77th minute.

The result snapped a six-game winless streak for Saint Louis FC, who will travel to Children's Mercy Park on Sept. 15 for the third and final meeting between the two sides this season.

The Rangers -- who gave professional debuts to Sporting KC Academy products Roman Knox and Sean Karani on Saturday -- will remain on the road for a ninth time in the opening 13 weeks of the USL season when they travel to take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 7 p.m. CT on June 9. The match will stream live on ESPN+ and in-game updates will be available on the USLsoccer.com Match Center.
