Shelton, Smith and Lindsey to give social commentary during Saturday re-air of Sporting's epic 2018 win over Houston

At 7 and 9 p.m. CT on Saturday, FOX Sports Kansas City will re-air Sporting Kansas City's stunning 3-2 victory over the Houston Dynamo from June 23, 2018.

As the match unfolds, Sporting players Khiry Shelton, Graham Smith and Jaylin Lindsey will give their own call of the action online and on social media.

For the third straight weekend, Sporting fans will have the unique opportunity to enjoy a second-screen bonus experience on Sporting's TwitterFacebookYouTube and Twitch platforms as well as SportingKC.com/live. Beginning at 7 p.m. CT, Shelton, Smith and Lindsey will team up with commentator Nate Bukaty to provide insightful commentary throughout the contest.

The likelihood of a Sporting victory looked decisively slim through 45 minutes, as a first-half brace from Mauro Manotas had given the Dynamo a deserved 2-0 advantage. But oh, how the script was flipped in the second stanza.

Manager Peter Vermes' halftime dressing room remarks — presumptuously delivered in fervent fashion — got the attention of his players, who looked like an entirely different team after the restart. Sporting received a lifeline courtesy of Daniel Salloi’s 59th-minute tally before substitutes Shelton and Diego Rubio struck in the final five minutes to give Sporting all three points in an unforgettable battle at Children's Mercy Park.

The instant classic was Smith's MLS debut, as he partnered Ike Opara in central defense, while Lindsey was making just his third MLS appearance—doing so as a left back despite right back being his primary position. The encounter also marked the sixth time in Sporting history that the club has come from two goals down to win an MLS match in regulation, and just the second time during the Children's Mercy Park era.
